It's a five minute spot on the Tavis Smiley show. Michael Moore has been invited, then uninvited to George Mason University and University of California, San Marcos. The universities claim that his $35,000 fee is too high for their budget. Dyson points out that it's simply a matter of censorship; big name speakers always command a large fee, right wing speakers aren't being uninvited. Universities have a responsibility to provide a broad spectrum of opinion to students, etc.

BTW, Pat Buchanan and Howard Dean will be debating at Irvine Auditorium at Penn on October 19. Don't know what kind of fees they command, but should be an interesting bunfight.

I don't have audio streaming capability and I'm not sure I want to spend $5
when I don't know the content of the program, just to get a transcript (how
silly is that!  Yes I know, it's for people who want a transcript after
hearing it, but what about those who can't hear it -- either technically or
because of a medical condition?).  Is there anyone willing to summarize?
