Sorry for the late response (no irony intended,
seriously!)...I'm just really behind on email.

Dan, I completely agree...but I feel obligated to
point out that the alarm co.'s response time was
indeed an aberration.  We set it off accidentally a
few times before (yeah, we're dumb that way), and they
called within 1 minute each time.

I just want to make it clear that I think the problem
is w/ police response time, not Chalmers.  I'd
recommend them to anyone.

I do resent paying the city $35 a year for the
"privilege" of having an alarm system when apparently
an alarm is a low priority for the cops.  As you
noted, had it been a real emergency--esp. if we'd been
home--we would've been completely f&*k*d.

BTW, we did complain to Blackwell's office...I'm not
holding my breath for improvement.
