Title: Free NIS Trainings
For anyone on this list who might be interested in this service.  It helped me determine the price that a developer paid for a nearby property and allowed me to contrast it with the selling price.  How do you spell profit?

Subject: [UNKNOWN] [CTCNet Phl] Free NIS Trainings

Dear NIS Friends:
Do you need detailed information about a specific property in your neighborhood?  Are you looking for data to help write grants?  Are you looking for Philadelphia crime data? Ever wanted to view Philadelphia social indicator and property data on a quick, detailed, and interactive website?  If you answered yes to any of the above questions you should attend a free 1 1/2 hour-long training at the University of Pennsylvania about the Philadelphia Neighborhood Information System. The NIS is designed to help community-based organizations, government agencies, researchers and concerned individuals in their efforts to analyze, transform and revitalize Philadelphia neighborhoods.   You can learn more about and preview NIS at our website www.cml.upenn.edu/nis.
The Cartographic Modeling Lab will be holding four trainings on the Neighborhood Information System. There is no cost for the training, however space is limited so pre-registration is required.  We are offering both introductory and advanced trainings. The introductory training is designed for new users. The advanced training will focus on advanced applications in NIS and on navigating the American Factfinder census website.  The trainings will be held on the following dates:
Introductory Trainings
December 13, 2004
2:30 pm to 4:00 pm

January 11, 2005
7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
January 12, 2005
2:30 pm to 4:00 pm

Advanced Trainings
January 25, 2005
7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
If you would like to register for either training please e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include your name, organization, contact information, and your preferred training date.  E-mail is the best way to register for the training as it ensures that we get your message directly.  We hope to see you in one of our upcoming trainings.  If you know someone who would benefit from this training, please forward this message to that person.   Thanks!
