cavtel still hasn't gotten back to me re: running services like smtp or
http (dns not necessary for me).  Can anyone using cavtel comment?

Personally, I'd recommend DCAnet. They are a REAL Internet ISP -- you get to be a peer on the Internet, none of this nonsense about blocked ports or anything of the sort. I've been using them now since Bell Atlantic first made DSL available in the area. (you get 5 IPs to play with... i.e. effectively a /29!)


They use Verizon for DSL copper in the UC area, so you can't use Cavtel for your local phone service unless you have a second line. I have Cavtel for my regular phone service and a second "life line" that handles the DSL (for $14/a month.)
