So, I am walking to the trolley this morning. I have navigated the dark and
dangerous corner of 47th and Hazel without incident and continue southbound
on 47th Street, past the dumpster that the Montrose apartment building
maintains on 47th Street. There are bags of open trash strewn about
sidewalk around the dumpster which is not an uncommon occurrence. What
caught my eye was the Have-a-Heart trap on the sidewalk. The trap contained
a dead raccoon that apparently had starved to death while trapped in the
ironically named Have-a-Heart. What kind of person would set up such a trap
and then not monitor it? It totally bummed me out. Bastards.

Anyway, three cheers to John Fenton of UCD -- I reported the situation to
him and he sent a crew over to clean the mess up. John is setting up a
meeting with the "management" company that allegedly maintains the property
to discuss this on-going dumpster problem. I called them as well to give
'em hell, but was stymied by their answering service. Anyone know anyone
the management company, Greenzang Properties, or the owner, Drexel
Properties, II?
