Is the motivation for murder supposed to make citizens feel safer?
Whether the gunslingers at the end of the block are shooting each other
over their parking spot being taken, the historic nature of the block
being ruined, or the fact that they are shooting because the price of
crack has gone up .45 cents, what's the difference?
Anyway, they need to send this important PR to Manhattan, because they
are not getting the news:
"It's [Rafael Robb charges] certainly not going to frighten any kids off
from applying to Penn," said Bev Taylor, a counselor with Ivy Coach, a
Manhattan-based college-counseling company. "The one thing that deters
[students] from applying to Penn is the surrounding area - it's a pretty
scary area."

Then again, when kids are pissing in the produce, maybe things really
are getting bad:
Jan. 11 - College student Alexander Shoemaker, 20, was cited for alleged
public urination in an aisle of the Fresh Grocer, located at 40th and
Walnut streets, at about 1:40 a.m.

Heard something interesting today at a press conference
on violence...based on police reports, more murders
involving guns last year were "dispute" related and not
specifically "drug" related crimes. The police are also reporting
a significant increase in domestic related killings.
