As I have said, I use homeopathic ear drops for excessive wax that creates
hearing loss. I leave the ear candling for those more curious.

Subject: [UC] a hoax: Ear candle wax removal treatment

  Folks-

I was trying to be discreet.....but....

The main point is that ear candling is a hoax. Try it over a glass of water.
You'll find the exact same 'stuff' is found in the partially burnt candle
even when it's held over water. You are looking at the melted wax from the
candle (sort of brown) and a powdery substance that comes from the candle
  itself.

One brand of ear candles has a disclaimer that it is for "entertainment
purposes only" (or something of the sort).

I used to use ear candles too. It took me a while before I discovered the
  truth for myself.
