Chris and I were at the Dock Street event, and we were just about heading toward the door, when Lewis Wendell stepped up to the podium, and began an effort to get everybody's attention. Around the same time, a guy who introduced himself as Andy Toy gave us Andy Toy candidate literature. If I recall correctly, he said he had to leave soon, but he may have stayed long enough to find out if he had a winning ticket for a door prize. I don't recall that he spoke at the podium, Lewis Wendell may have announced his presence. Chris and I left after the door prizes were announced.

KC,

I'm glad you didn't bother paying attention to Lewis or any speeches. Also, I hope you got a good key chain!

Why on earth would you conclude that voteforandytoy was someone who hated Mr. Toy? It seems so obvious that this was done by an "enthusiastic supporter" of Toy and an "enthusiastic supporter" of UCD.

I doubt that it was Melani. Someone slightly more clever seems to have sent a message to all UCD supporters on the list that UCD would want Toy in council. By making up a false PUBLIC endorsement from UCD, the individual pretends his post wants to sabotage the Toy campaign. Ask yourself, was there really any injury? The follow-up quotes from West help show the connections that the poster wanted expressed on this list.

Someone seems to have believed they could use the list to deliver the obvious connections while pretending Toy has been victimized. The hope appeared to be that list readers would make the same conclusion as you have made, that it was sabotage. The Toy message was promoted not sabotaged.

Please understand, I don't have any reason to believe these occurences on the list have anything to do with Mr. Toy. Nevertheless, I would hope the campaign reserves its judgement until the truth is known. This should not be attributed to "list politics" any more easily than it should be attributed to the Toy campaign. This type of innuendo, "list politics," has become a typical tactic here in our district and I would wish that all candidates resist its allure.

KC, I got a really hot tip on the Brooklyn Bridge. Send me 10 grand and you and I will be the 2 proud owners.

Subject: RE: [UC] [Announcement] Vote for Andy Toy

a) Does anyone know the origininator of this post, since it came out
after the fact that it wasn't from the candidate or his campaign
organization.

NO

b) Was Andy "introduced" as a speaker during the event,

NOT THAT I HEARD OR SAW

if so by whom, and also if so was the introduction an implied or
express endorsement -- say, as opposed to
a thanks for attending or for some assistance he had provided in
getting the project implemented.

Can anybody provide answers to either or both of the above (in words of
one syllable or less)?

I saw someone who I took to be andy toy handing out andy toy literature.
I saw lewis talking. His talk was like "Hey, thanks for coming, we're
going to give out some keychains, check your ticket stub to see if it
matches!" I didn't hear anybody get endorsed and I didn't see or hear
the guy handing out the Andy Toy literature get up and speak or get an
endorsement.

There were a bunch of people there from Philly Car Share. Jannie
Blackwell was there. As far as I know, none of them got endorsed or
asked to speak.

I figured the post to the list was from someone who hated Andy Toy. I
have no idea who he is.
