Well.what I am hearing is the voters are looking at race and not
qualifications or agenda,
and yeah-buddy it pretty much has worked that way on both sides for
quite some time!

Most voters couldn't tell you anything about the candidates other than
what they have heard
on a TV commercial. I made a few hundred calls for Chaka Fattah in a few
wards and many
voters were undecided, couldn't name all the candidates, hadn't done any
research, and if
they picked a candidate..they had a superficial reason for doing so.

What does that say about the process? The mayor's election is a
popularity contest among
a bunch of uninformed voters driven by TV ads and race (color).

I posted based on off-list post I received about trees, Fattah, and
Brady. I decided to make
my opinions public.

I am curious what Neighbors think about the alliance between
Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell
and Tom Knox just announced.

Frank,
I'm not clear on your point, especially read in response to
Sharrieff's quote. Are the young gay R's also white and suburban? And
carpenters? Who are using fraudulent city addresses and changing to D?
It sounds worse than bored...

I know at least two young gay republicans who changed their addresses
and party affiliations just so they could vote for a white guy in the
primary. One said "Knox is the only logical choice." If I know two,
there must be many more like them.
