This recapitulates, does it not, one of the all-time great UC-list posts: "UCD boosted my couch" ( I forget what Glenn entitled it, but that's what it amounted to). A beat-up old sofa was swiped from Glenn's porch one night. He immediately deduced it had been stolen by UCD as a punishment for his fearless opposition to whatever it is they do, and published his accusation on UC-list. Those villains!

Unmoderated listserves can be lots of fun. But they do require some patience with emotionally and cognitively troubled individuals who still wish to participate in community discussions. It's good they can do so, up to a point. After a time, however, commonsense judgement has to kick in. The best way to help a worthy but confused neighbor is to be very honest, kind and clear in pointing out their confusion.

Once again the perspicacity of some of our list members amazes me. That you
are able to connect an incident which happened before the Iraq war (that
happened to me too), vandalism of your house, and Karen Allen's recent loss
is quite remarkable.

Yes. Not a Nutter sign, but I had several anti-war signs at my house across
from Clark Park vandalized before the Iraq war. You were lucky. My house
was vandalized as well.
