Today, the last day, was beautiful weather and the Bowl was full of
children, soccer balls, parents, friends, coaches, and up on the hill
Melanie and coworkers laid out a not only delicious but healthy set
of lunch sandwiches and fresh fruit and drinks from Abbraccio... AND
of course, Trophies! Very shiny this year and with name plaques
that looked quite professional.
The kids from red, blue or yellow teams played each other, and grown
ups and sometimes older brothers or sisters joined in. Seeing the
happy kids, not only those that could say "did you see my goal!!" but
those that just had fun scuffling, kicking, getting that ball, made
one realize what a treasure not only the Park is, but the people who
organize and run Youth Soccer.
Hats off to you! It's a very special experience... volunteer
coaches! Parents who come to watch! Not much like it around
here..... ...
