I am forwarding this request to the University City listserv in the interest of public disclosure.
Dear FOCP, I am requesting that the Friends of Clark Park call a special Board meeting for the purpose of removing Tony West from the Board and Friends of Clark Park Association. Mr. West published the notice below on the University City listserv. It is based on Mr. West's representation of the FOCP at the University of Pennsylvania's First Thursday meeting for community associations: "Glenn's report is false. John Fenton has not been fired. His employer, Lewis Wendell stated that clearly at the meeting Glenn attended. Seventy people heard him say that. -- Tony West" Mr. West publicly posted this notice on 6/8/2007. At the meeting noted, Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell delivered a report about the UCD scandal and delivered a report on the treatment of Mr. John Fenton and his forced resignation. I expect a media report and the minutes of the meeting will confirm the facts of the meeting. After the meeting, I reported very carefully my experience and recollection to the UC listserv in the interest of informing the public. In Mr. West statement, he is accusing me of reporting false information with no clarification of his claim. He is also indirectly calling the Councilwoman a liar and is misstating fact about any denial by Mr. Lewis Wendell, the director of UCD. This was a public meeting and observed by numerous civic association leaders from the community. Friends, I have brought to you previous complaints about Mr. West's conduct that is inappropriate for a leader of any community group. Here Mr. West is representing FOCP. At the meeting in question, he identified himself as representing FOCP in front of nearly 70 people including Penn officials, the Councilwoman, and numerous leaders and individuals from the community. He is well known on the public listserv as your representative and his style of leadership has been well established. Mr. West's post is very damaging to the reputation and credibility of the FOCP. I intend to report to the Councilwoman's office with which you have a working relationship, this post by the FOCP representative. This is a very serious matter. I am making this demand as a community member who will not join the FOCP with its current organization. Please feel free to contact me for any assistance when you take this action. Sincerely, Glenn Moyer Former member and Board member of the FOCP PS: I would request that you distribute this to all Board members because I do not have all of their e-mail addresses
