MessageIn tone, this could well be a satire of posts from Krigman Al or Glenn. Does anyone else see the similarity? sk ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike V.<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 09, 2007 7:46 AM Subject: [UC] Official Correspondence To FOMPBLA (Friends of Martian Polar Bears Ladies' Auxilary)
I post this to the public list out of a tragicomically overinflated sense of my own importance. Dear alien, godless killing machines, Though I am neither Martian, nor a polar bear, and indeed your unreasonably implacable foe, I am writing you this letter to ask -- nay, demand! -- that you move this year's annual Martian Polar Bear Cotillion from the 19th to the 18th of August. As you are undoubtedly aware, I have consistently maintained (through various media including the local newspaper classified ads, illegal shortwave radio broadcasts and the simple expedient of taping a television remote control to the side of my head, donning my homemade sandwich board and preaching from the streetcorner) that alien ursines may not present their debutantes on even months when both the day and the year are prime numbers. By holding this year's grand gala on 08/19/07, you are deliberately and maliciously maligning my character by accusing me (de facto if not de jure) of being a prevaricator. I can only assume this is a personal attack! Needless to say, up with this I shall not put! It is a clear and flagrant breach of commonly accepted standards of behaviour! This is a very serious matter, and despite the fact that I have no standing within your organization, nor any rational grounds for my complaint, I nevertheless demand that you comply with my absurd terms and conditions forthwith! Tongueing cheekily, Mike V. P.S. as neither Martians nor bears are particularly internet savvy, could you please print out a copy of this email, wrap it around a large, tasty fish and put it on the next mail rocket to the Red Planet?
