Hi all. Writing this for a friend here in West Philly. When it rains, his basement sometimes floods. Water comes in through the walls. He's wondering what his options are. Ideally, he'd like to prevent the water from coming in in the first place, as he's afraid that over time the water will erode the dirt between the stone and the wall will collapse. But but baring that, he'd at least like to find the best way of preventing the water from spreading all over the basement. Does anyone have any experience with a contractor who handles this kind of thing? Recommendations? He's understandably a little panicky about it.
