There are bad roofers. There okay roofers. There are good roofers. Then there is John.

His specialty is the nagging leak any monstrous old University City building is apt to develop, as mysterious in its whereabouts as Osama Bin Laden's and just as destructive. Nobody gets them all right the first time, but John keeps coming back and coming back. In the end ... his kill record in UC is a lot better than Bush's in East Waziristan.

I would like to take this moment to praise two wonderful things in our neighborhood: 1) Roofer John Klein, 215-487-7552 Since I bought my house over four years ago I have been having ongoing problems with a leaky enclosed front porch roof and the back shed room off of the kitchen. I have had multiple roofers, handymen, contractors, etc. try to solve the problems, with little to no success. Finally I called John Klein, as per a suggestion made on this email list. It was a long wait, about eight weeks I think, but I have been waiting over four years to not be stressed when it rains, so I figured I'd wait... and it was worth it. John totally fixed both problems, and hung a new gutter which looks quite nice on the side of my house. I was so happy that we got so much rain this week, as I was able to verify that yes, my house is finally not taking in water. 2) BBQ Chicken Pizza at the new Dock Street YUM YUM YUM. OMG YUM. That is all. --Cappy
