Hi all,
Back in March or April, I emailed the uc-list introducing the idea of the
West Philly Tool Library and soliciting interest. I'm happy to report that
we're now open. Details and contact information are below.
  best,
  Mike.

PS. This couldn't have happened without the help of many people, including
the UC List's own Guy Laren who's generously donated the use of the space for
the first year.

**News from the West Philly Tool Library**
You are receiving this e-mail because you are a member of the West
Philly Tool Library or are a friend or supporter. Questions about the
Tool Library? Email us at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or call us at
215-833-3190.

**Now Open on Saturday Mornings **
The West Philly Tool Library is now open every Saturday morning. Stop
by and see our new space and borrow a tool or two. We hope to expand
our hours within the next two months as we increase our membership
and stock of tools.

**We Welcome Tool Donations**
Do you have a hammer, ratchet, screwdriver, or other tool that you
haven't used in years? Do you have more rakes and shovels than you
could possibly ever use? Donate them to the Tool Library! As a
fiscally-sponsored project of the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs
Coalition, a 501(c)(3) organization, your donations are even tax
deductible (to the extent permitted under law.) Contact our tool
donation master, Ben White, at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or visit
our website to complete the tool donation form.

**Volunteer Tool Librarians Sought**
Interested in volunteering on a Saturday morning to catalog the
tools, loan them to members, and meet folks in the neighborhood?
Become a volunteer tool librarian! For more information, contact our
volunteer coordinator, Stacey Hendricks, at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

**Consider Becoming a Lifetime Member**
We welcome all tool library members. But if you want to really help
the Tool Library get going, please consider becoming a Lifetime
Member for a one-time membership fee of $200. This will help us grow
as fast as possible and provide us with a budget to purchase a
greater stock of the tools we need. You can sign up as a General
Member or Lifetime Member by coming down to the Tool Library any
Saturday morning or join online at our website
<http://westphillytools.org/become_a_member.htm>. (You can even pay
online using Pay Pal!)

**Our Stock of Tools Continues to Grow**
This past weekend, the Tool Library purchased four new rakes, a
hammer drill, two Makita circular saws, a weedwhacker, an electric
hedge trimmer, a wheelbarrow, and more. Stop by to see what else is
in stock.

**Stay Tuned for our Upcoming Grand Opening**
We're working towards holding a Grand Opening celebration some time
in October. Don't worry, we'll give you plenty of notice as soon as
we've set the date.

**Thanks to our Recent Community Supporters**
And finally, a very special thank you to our most recent Community
Supporters that have contributed their resources to help start the
Tool Library: Woodland Building Supply, the University of the
Sciences in Philadelphia, and Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell.
