Hi, I am forwarding an email sent to the list serve a while back that I saved. At Jonathan's recommendation I used the plumber mentioned below. He was excellent.

I recently contacted him about installing a new soil line and stack in our basement. He answered his cell phone on my first call and came out that next day to inspect the job. He told me that he would provide a quote within a day or two and as promised called with the quote. He explained that he was busy but would be able to schedule the work within several weeks which was fine because it was not an emergency situation. As promised, he called to schedule the work and showed up last Saturday exactly at the appointed time. His price was reasonable, he did nice work and took pains to leave the area clean (including putting a drop cloth in the area where we have a playroom). I highly recommend him. I've also used Bob Hughes. I wish more contractors were like Bob. He showed up when he said he would. He was so busy he scheduled me for 3 weeks later. He then very briefly called me every week to just to let me know that he was still coming. He did half the job one week and then the other half the next week. He wouldn't take any money from me until he completed the entire job. Very respectful and reasonably priced. Good luck, Stephen On 12/5/06, Karen Heenan <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > wrote: I used Bob Hughes for chimney repairs. I'm pretty sure he also does cleaning, and since you use your fireplace a lot in the winter, it wouldn't hurt to have him inspect it. The chimney liners tend to disintegrate when it suits them, and you wouldn't want the kitties to be breathing in fumes. Bob's number is (215) 342-5411.
