Wilma,
I agree with you this issue should get more attention. There is nothing
wrong with that.
There is something wrong with people who are quick to *write about
*public process in University City but slow to l*earn about *public
process in University City. If you want to play a role in
decision-making, you must take note of the decision-making process and
take the necessary steps to enter into it.
Posting private opinions on a private listserve like UC-list is good.
But it is no substitute for entering into the real public process. The
real process is complicated; it's illogical; it's unfair; it's messy. In
other words, it's like life in general. So if you want to be "heard"
before government decisions are arrived at ... just get out there and live!
UC-list can prepare you for the real public process. It can feed
material into the real public process. But it can never BE a real public
process in itself. It's just the dressing-room, not the stage.

Dear Tony,
This has been the source of my concerns and arguments about the vision of
the economic development of this community and who gets to decide this all
along.
I have continued to raise these concerns on this listserv.
Perhaps, now the message means something to those who are now affected by
the governing few.
This longstanding issue may finally get the attention it has deserved.
What's wrong with that?
Wilma
