To be perfectly blunt, Frank-- this "it's how I interpret his words"
is just a dodge. Anyone with reasonable familiarity with written
English would know what Tony was saying, would understand his intent,
and see his point for what it is. This feigning of ignorance is just a
way of avoiding the obvious: you yanked his comments well out of
context, tried to spin them as a loutish insult, and presented them to
an audience that wasn't likely to check your veracity.
Oh, and I should mention: I note that you did not accuse me of
misrepresenting Tony's words. I take it as read, then, that you agree
that my account _is_ accurate, and the problem was entirely with your
"interpretation."
