Dear neighbors, The Campus Inn is NOT scheduled at the upcoming June 17th city planning commission meeting. (It was tabled at the May meeting)
The staff member handling the hotel is on leave, so I was unable to get much of the information I was seeking. (Note: the staff was friendly.) I will return and report to you after the 24th. Neighbors will need to check the agenda periodically to discover when/if the developers seek the approval of the commissioners. (There is nothing preventing Lussenhop et al from pushing the hotel through without PCPC recommendation) It appears that civic associations may be called by PCPC staff if there is last minute scheduling. In our case, that is the leadership of the SHCA and UCHS. (The power brokers in both of these organizations have not only shown contempt for informing the public, but have shown an extreme commitment to shielding the secrecy of the hotel developers.) I noticed that you can sign up to receive the agenda on the PCPC web site! Here is a list of commissioners for those of you wishing to make written objections to the hotel or make a complaint about any false testimony to PHC about public support or public forums. You may wish to hand deliver your submission for each commissioner to the 13th floor of 1515 Arch St. www.philaplanning.org (I will forward my submission to the list at some point, but will not submit it to the commissioners until the hearing is scheduled.) Gary Jastrzab is Acting Executive Director of the PCPC Commissioners: Andrew Altman, Chairman Camille Cates Barnett Rob Dubow Parick J Eiding Allen Greenberger Bernard Lee Natalia Olson de Savyckyj Joe Syrnick Nilda Iris Ruiz There is another scheduled PCPC meeting in July. Presumably, if Penn goes straight to zoning hearing without returning to PCPC first, a new orange poster must appear at the 40th and Pine location. (I'm not certain and little would surprise me) Glenn
