Hi Sharon,

The market at 45th and Baltimore, The People's Market, was shut down. I don't know about the cameras but there is a trend in local closures.

O'Haras at 39th and Chestnut had also existed for decades before what has been described as a "strongarm" closure.. Kelliannes had been a working class bar at 44th and Spruce for decades. I knew the owner was having trouble. A buyout offer was offered to him.

Another local establishment patronized by local working class folks and ethnic minorities (name withheld to avoid additional harrassment) spent $30,000 in legal fees to successfully sue Phila L & I for harrassment.

Of course, the Francisville 4 are homeless because the police and L & I falsely accused vandalism of one of these cameras as a reason to inprison those dissenters and seize their home.

In 2003, Penn via its surrogate UCD was bragging to the Phiadelphia Business Journal about its use of L&I to intimidate Baltimore Ave businesses. Essentially, if a business refused the strongarm tactics to "upscale" like the famous Sugar Hill Bakery, L& I was used to intimidate them.

This misuse of government agencies has been almost universally used as a society shifts to a totalitarian regime. Personally, I think we're past the camera intimidation phase. Why bother with cameras when the police, L&I, and all other government agencies are available to oppress, torture, and inprison dissent to corporate rule? I expect Blackwater Inc. patrols in the district unless the US invades Canada or Venezuela soon.

Ruled by corporate (confirmed):
1 Phila and Penn police
2. Licensce and Inspection
3. The Department of Recreation
4. Zoning Board of Adjustment
5. Department of Streets
6. Philadelphia School District
7. Philadelphia Historic Commission
8. Various elected officials

Take care,
Glenn

Speaking of corporate rule - has anyone heard the rumor that a local comm.
Group wants to walmart 45th and Baltimore and install cameras to watch the

Thanks for the info,
Sharon
