Neighbors, I want to give you a heads-up on some of the latest schemes by the FOCP.
Tony West and Brian Siano did a "study" of benches in Clark Park. It was revealed last night that FOCP will start selling advertising rights in Clark Park. So far, a bench in the shape of one of the car share companies is planned. We might anticipate that this is only the tip of the iceberg like usual. I forsee a bench in the shape of an oil well, a big mac, and a smart bomb bomber. As I mentioned, the proponent of dog park propaganda was anointed to the FOCP board. I anticipate the dog park and the call for massive arrests of the current neighbors in our sub-culture of dogs and people to restart in secret. A police Sgt. presented last night. He told us that police resources are very stretched. In 2002 at the UCD/FOCP Quality of Life Task force, the police Lt. told the FOCP that he did not want to pull his officers to Clark Park to act as an FOCP private army making massive arrests of our neighbors and euthanizing the wonderful dogs of Clark Park. Last night, the Sgt. reminded FOCP that they can call 911 in the event of any actual dog attack. In 2002, we discussed some of the false reports being given to the police, and that real dog attacks were extremely rare. Not only would dog owners be the first to call police if someone brought an attack dog to the park, but the dog culture is one of the most visible daily deterents to crime in the park and probably the greatest asset to the community keeping all of us safe! It appears that the current chess area at the flag pole will be destroyed. In its place a series of moveable tables and chairs will be set out in the park. Those of you who have ever experienced one of the FOCP hotheads barking out orders in their private park, will understand what is being planned. This system will support the upscale UCD farmers market and serve as an extension of the coffee shop. At 17th and the Parkway, part of a small park was converted directly into an upscale coffeee shop recently. There is no way to know if such construction is part of the FOCP scheme because you will never get honest information. (Note:I proposed the farmers market in 1996-97 but withdrew the proposal because I was not permitted to speak to the FOCP members and the FOCP gang leader was going to fight me. Please understand that the current high priced upscale market was not intended by the buy local movement to be primarily an advertisement for Penn Real Estate) The police Sgt. also revealed that UCD continues to do "homeless outreach" in the middle of the night. I pointed out that about a month ago the five or six unfortunate and harmless homeless people sleeping across from my house were all dissappeared in a single night. The police have no information. I asked the UCD rep if I could have access to the written policy which describes the training and procedures of this "homeless outreach." He told me that it was on the UCD web site! Imagine the UCD, unwilliing to reveal its secret operations-hahaha Those were the important highlights of FOCP schemes which needed to be reported publicly.
