Worth reading! Thanks to all who came out in the bad weather, at a very
busy time of year. I'm sure that was noted by Mayor Nutter. And there seemed
to be a small crack in the previous "it's a done deal" stance the City has
taken: Mayor Nutter said over and over, in response to oft-repeated
criticism,
that he is working "with your District Councilwoman" to see if some
interested parties who have been identified can help restore library funding
for some
of the branches, possibly Kingsessing. I know we'd like to see them ALL
restored, and no one was satisfied with the possibility of Kingsessing alone
staying open, but perhaps we are making progress.

Maybe the negative pressure is beginning to get some results. So, we need
to keep it up! Beth Ann Johnson forwarded this to me from Amy Dougherty,
Executive Director, Friends of the Free Library:

We ask you now to write to the Mayor and voice your opinion.
