Louis Taylor's daughter Kristen is one of our Conservatory and 
Philadelphia Youth Ensemble students, and studies viola with Ms. Nina 
Wilkinson.

CAMERATA 
PHILADELPHIA is an ensemble without musical boundaries.  Whether a chamber 
music ensemble or a 
symphonic orchestra, the CAMERATA not only brings a new and distinct 
interpretation to the classical repertoire, but also seeks to bridge the styles 
of classical, jazz, folk and world music – each program an eclectic and richly 
diverse musical offering.  Committed 
to music education for all ages, it is the mission of the CAMERATA to make the 
experience of great music accessible to all.  Under the direction of its 
founder, 
cellist and conductor Stephen Framil, the CAMERATA has 
performed in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Michigan, at the Port City Chamber Music 
Festival (North Carolina); and collaborated with violinists Julia Bushkova 
(Russia), Carla Trynchuk (Canada), and Leah Kim (South Korea), pianist 
Aleksandar Serdar (Serbia), the Louis Taylor Jazz Quintet and William Douglas 
Jazz Quartet (Philadelphia), and the West Philadelphia 
Orchestra. 
   
Distinguished 
as the first American cellist to perform in Hanoi since the Vietnam War, 
Camerata Philadelphia Music Director & Conductor Stephen 
Framil has performed as concert soloist around the world: including 
Carnegie Weill & Avery-Fisher Halls (New York), Hong Kong City Hall, with 
the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra (Hungary), Volgograd Philharmonic Orchestra 
(Russia), Latvian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (Italy Tour 2007), Manila 
Philharmonic Orchestra (Philippines), National Philharmonic of Moldova, Oltenia 
State Filarmonica (Romania), Zaporozhye Symphony Orchestra (Ukraine), Vratza 
Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria), Viêt Nam National Symphony Orchestra, Bombay

two Haydn Cello Concertos with Paul 
Freeman and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra: this recording will be 
released in 2009 under CENTAUR RECORDS. 
   
Louis 
Taylor was born in Philadelphia 
and began playing the saxophone at the age of 10.  During his musical journey, 
he has 
performed or recorded with an assortment of musical greats.  The list includes 
but is not limited to 
the late Phyllis Hyman, Teddy Pendergrass, the Dells, the Stylistics, the 
Temptations, Rolls Royce, Pure Soul, the Spinners, Lou Rawls, Jerry Butler, 
BeBe 
Winans and Aretha Franklin. The list also includes jazz greats Stanley Clarke, 
Charles Fambrough, Bobby Watson, Al Jarreau, Joey DeFrancesco, Dexter Wansel, 
Orrin Evans, Duane Eubanks, Pieces of a Dream, Odean Pope, Ray Mantilla and 
John 
Lewis of the Modern Jazz Quartet.  
Louis was also honored to perform with jazz violinist John Blake at the 
Grover Washington tribute concert, sharing the stage with contemporary jazz 
saxophonists Gerald Albright, Najee and Kirk Whalum.
