Curio Theatre Company Presents Connor McPherson's award-winning play 'The Weir'

The Weir by Conor MacPherson
Oct 29/09—Nov 21/09 Folk tales and the supernatural are the topics shared by
the regulars at the local pub. As each one tells a story they discover what
they never knew about themselves and each other. The Weir encompasses the true
essence of storytelling and the fierce need to connect. Conor McPherson’s other
works include The Seafarer, Shining City, and Dublin Carol

. “A moment arrives, and it's hard to say exactly when because you've shed all
sense of time, when you realize that you have strayed into territory that
scrapes the soul.” Ben Brantley, The New York Times

In a small Irish town, friends meet in their local pub for a few drinks and are
interrupted by a newcomer. They set about acquainting their new neighbor with
local folktales and ghost stories – but it is her story that is truly
haunting.*
