Here is an important question in a Daily News, letter to the editor.
http://www.philly.com/dailynews/opinion/20100309_Letters__Will_tax-abatement_folks_be_paying__trash_fee__.html?posted=y&viewAll=y#comments Condo developers knew that inner cities across the country were ripe for big profits. After years of taxpayer subsidized suburban growth, greater profits became possible in cities because of the convergence of several factors. The tax abatement was demanded, in back rooms, so that developers could rake in windfall profits on projects they had planned. Like subsidizing suburban growth, society and the city got no benefit from tax abatement for the wealthy developers. They propelled a housing bubble and made a very few rich developers get a whole lot richer. The letter writer asks a good question! My question: Does modern corporate government (Republicans and Democrats) have any function other than prostitution and lying for the wealthy and international corporate leaders? ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named "UnivCity."
