John Kromer is not proposing the "privatization" of the Sheriff's Office, he is proposing elimination. MANY of the current duties of the Sheriff's office are redundancies that can be better handled by other city departments.Further, some of the people protesting John Kromer's initiatives have more than their jobs to defend. Some of them are guilty of at best negligence and very probably theft as regards to the MILLIONS of dollars that have gone unaccounted for during Sheriff Green's time in the office. If you want to see insider trading in action, just attend a SHERIFF SALE, oh... you have. It appears some of your properties were obtained at Sheriff Sales. One of John's thoughts is to speed up the sale of abandoned properties, while slowing the sale of owner occupied properties, (and establish programs), to keep the poor in their homes. Best!Liz
