Civility and the ability of neighbors to communicate on this public list improved drastically when the censored, ucneighbor list, was created!

Cyberbullying, on this list, flourished several years ago, but largely vanished when the bullies were disgraced and sought the protection of censorship to control their messaging. That was serendipity.

At first, the cyberbullies, also known as the barking cheese gang, would continue to use awful personal attacks here, while engaging in "good neighbor" posts on ucneighbors. (The ucneighbor archives were closed and the phenomena can no longer be juxtaposed).

Tony West and Brian Siano's recent posts are a classical reminder of that history!

It was not that ucneighbors wanted to be the good social club list, as Tony West's latest appeals pretend, but that the public list was to be DESTROYED. (This was clear in the early archives of ucneighbors.) Without the public list, the censored Penn list would have given a monopoly for all messaging about neighborhood issues!

Karen Allen did a comparison of posts during the hotel fight that clearly demonstrated the chilling effect on speech, that merely the threat of censorship causes! She found that the hugely unpopular hotel plot was unmentioned on the censored list, while thoroughly examined here.

Tony West and others have again been using the mean and fallacious tactics on the public list that destroys the possibility of civil discourse. Then, Tony West and others blame the public nature of this list, as the enemy that leads to incivility. Bullying leads to incivility, not free speech!

Has Tony and Brian's ongoing meanness cleverly turned good people in favor of censorship? Their tactics seem very clear to me.
