"Please do not accuse our community of unfair discourse."

Wilma, I interpreted her complaint as directed to the ward leader, and not
about the community in any way.

Hopefully, we will get a report about tonight's meeting, and see if the issue
was explained or resolved. Did anyone go?

Indeed she should have the opportunity to engage Rep. Roebuck in a debate
on the issues as soon as possible.

Neighborhood organizations can certainly arrange this before the Primary
and neighborhood residents would be more than happy to submit questions
for the debate before, (so she can bone up and not be caught in a "gotcha"
situation), or a true debate where one knows the issues beforehand and can
take all comers regardless.

Please do not accuse our community of unfair discourse.

First, anyone who thinks the Democrat/Republican party of PA believes in
fairness needs to read this report. It's not the entire problem with PA
election laws, but people should know how the corporate party will
attempt to bankrupt and destroy any individual who dares to challenge
their stranglehold over democracy.

Text of letter by the Fatimah Muhammad campaign. This was cc'd to
residents of the 27th Ward.

"March 16, 2012
Carol Jenkins
4301 Larchwood Ave
Philadelphia PA 19104

Dear Ms. Jenkins,

First, I wanted to tell you that I was pleased to meet you at Clark Park
this week. I wish you had approached me at a time when I was not
already engaged in a conversation with local residents, but I was
nevertheless interested to make your acquaintance.

I also wanted to let you know that I respectfully decline your
invitation to participate in a candidates' forum on March 19th.

I believe that an honest, legitimate candidates' forum that is intended
to educate and inform voters is of great value to our district. I am
anxious to participate in such an event and provide voters with an
opportunity to compare my agenda with Mr. Roebuck's.

However, because you informed me that it was your intention to allow Mr.
Roebuck to speak for 30 minutes and provide me with just 10 minutes to
speak, I have concluded that it is not your intention to host an honest,
legitimate forum. Rather, I believe that you are attempting to stage a
one-sided, "gotcha" event and I don't believe that does the voters any
good.

Unfortunately, you appear to have already used my name to promote the
event despite never having provided details to my campaign nor having
gotten a confirmation from me. In order to save yourself the
embarrassment of continuing to advertise an event without my
participation, I suggest that you refrain from any further promotion.

I look forward to the opportunity to participate in a fair, unbiased
meeting with Mr. Roebuck to exchange our thoughts and perspectives on
issues that are of key importance to the residents of the 188th district
who deserve our very best. I will continue to be on the lookout for
such an opportunity.

Respectfully,

Fatimah Loren Muhammad

PS- Your unsolicited advice to "find a new photographer" since you
thought that picture of me "very unflattering" was bizarre, to say the
least. I just wanted to let you know that I've only received positive
feedback from voters, so I think I'll pass.

cc: Residents of the 27th Ward"
