This ouster and report at UVA shows how completely higher education has been transformed into a corporate industry. UVA was once a good university.

If you saw the report about Penn's new corporate center, the old Marshall lab, you will have noticed that the "academic mission" of Penn was never even mentioned.  (a few days ago in the Inq.)

Universities like Penn use taxpayer resources to have low paid junior researchers do basic research.  Then, they transfer the benefits to corporate cronies and call it "technology transfer."  Here is the UVA story.

It appears both new arlene Ackermans are experienced with downsizing and sabotaging their former schools.  You may notice that the end of transparency is always the foundation upon which the corporate sharks build their attacks. This is what happens when basic principles are forgotten, and greed trickles down to the middle class!
