Thanks to Proj. Meow (who picked up this kitty on Tues) and Jess and Clara (who alerted me to the 'lost' flyers that were posted the other day, "Fatman" kitty was reunited with his owner Thurs night.  :-)

A reminder to cat (and dog) owners: Please ID your pets, including indoor-only cats.  You never know when they might slip out.  Microchip and collar with ID are crucial.  The more info on your tag/label the sooner your pet is likely to get back to you!  Keep collars on at all times (and use safety collars on cats).  The microchip is a necessary backup, should a collar slip off.  If your pet goes missing contact ACCT shelter (Animal Care & Control - main intake facility) and PSPCA immediately, and post ads on craigslist, westphillylocal.com, your fb page, and here, and alert neighbors and post flyers.  If stray/found animals are turned over to ACCT and are found not to have a *registered* microchip or a 'lost' report on file the shelter will typically hold the animal for no more than 48 hrs before it is evaluated for adoptability.  I think you know the rest.  To know more about how ACCT works, go to: http://www.acctphilly.org/

Speaking of shelters, ACCT is currently (as nearly always) overflowing with beautiful cats and dogs that urgently need homes - permanent or temporary.  Adoption/Fostering saves lives, whether you foster or adopt locally (through Project Meow or City Kitties) or through a shelter.  Great reasons to foster:

"Fatman"

Cheers!
