Subject: [UCNeighbors] hit & run on 45th st. this past Saturday?(3/29)
Thankfully no humans were hurt, but my car was pretty heavily
wrecked on Saturday morning around 11am-ish(based on neighbors
recollections of hearing a loud SMASH!).
I live on the 1000 block of S. 45th st(right across from the HMS
school). My car was parked on the east side of the street(the school
side), and when I came downstairs around 4pm, the scene I saw was
pretty gruesome. Driver's side rear bumper/quarter panel/wheel area
was completely smashed in, de-hubcapped, tire flattened, rim bent
beyond repair, and generally in terrible shape. Must have been a
significant impact because the passenger side rear wheel/rim also
sustained damage when it was pushed into the curb.
I know this is a pretty hefty longshot, but did anyone in this group
happen to see this? Hear it? I know basically nothing can be done at
this point - car has been towed away to a body shop, insurance dealt
with, police report filed, etc - but it might bring me some peace of
mind if I knew of anyone else who was witness to this event.
