The Debian maintainer of ghdl, Wesley J. Landaker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,
suggested the following work arounds:
1. add softlink as in previous comment
2. Modify /usr/lib/ghdl/lib/gcc/${arch}-linux-gnu/${ver}/vhdl/lib/grt.lst,
which controls what the libraries get linked in to elaborated designs.
3. rebuild from sources.
