Hi sibidiba, This sounds a lot like an X performance issue particular to Jaunty which got solved in Karmic when we moved to the 2.6.30-rc2 (and newer X bits). Can you please test to see if Karmic solves this for you? Testing a LiveCD should be sufficient - you can get an ISO image of karmic (alpha-2 or newer) from http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/.
