Sorry for being not communicative enough. So hopefully my answer is now explaining my proposed patch.
I think that the man page from bash (especially invocation) has a good explanation of the different modes. There is an distinction between an interactive and a login or non-interactive shell. Both types seems to be distinct, so calling the shell with "-i -l" makes no sense. When using nautilus-open-terminal we want to interact with the shell - type commands and receive the results. The interactive shell is started if it was invoked with "-i" or if no parameter is provided. So maybe we should drop the parameter completely. To come back to the initial bug report: Only the interactive bash reads the bashrc files. -- .bashrc is not executed when terminal is opened through nautilus-open-terminal https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/448337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
