I had very little problems using the 173.xx version in intrepid, and after installing the 180.11 driver from jaunty (still running intrepid), the situation seems to be even better =)
To do this (ONLY do this if you are sure about what you are doing, since jaunty is still in heavy development and things like this might break your installation, the packages that work for me might be replaced by packages that don't work when you try): 0. READ through ALL of these steps to make sure you understand everything, and can revert the steps if something would go wrong. 1. Download the individual packages from http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=nvidia+180 (you need all of them except nvidia-glx-180-dev). 2. Uninstall your current versions of nvidia-XXX-kernel-source and nvidia-glx-XXX. (XXX should be either 173 or 177 in intrepid.) 3. Install all three downloaded packages at once using sudo dpkg -i in a terminal. -- Screen refresh problems with nvidia on intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269904 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
