Thank you for reporting this bug and welcome as a bug reporter. For all bugs that are related to xorg, we require the following information, which I would like you to upload as separate files (i.e. not paste it in a comment): - The output of `lspci -vvnn` (this gives us the information we need about your hardware) - The file /var/log/Xorg.0.log (this is the log file from xorg, and tells us what xorg is up to) - The file /etc/X11/xorg.conf if you have changed that from the default minimal configuration
Since this appeared suddenly, we would also like to know the exact version of your driver. You can find this by typing `dpkg -s xserver- xorg-video-intel | grep Version`. You may also find some information about recent updates (look especially for suff with xorg) in /var/log/dpkg.log. Also, since this is a resolution issue I think it would be useful if you could add the following line to the Device section in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf: Option "ModeDebug" "true" then log out and in again, run the xrandr commands that used to work, and finally upload the Xorg.0.log that results from this. The option simply tells the driver to include some extra information in the log file about how it selects the modes (which includes the resolution). If you want to read more about bug reporting, there is some information about it in the ubuntu wiki, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs . For information specific to Xorg, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting . I'm going to set the status of this bug to "Incomplete", which only means that I have requested some information that we are still waiting for (any bug in xserver-xorg-video-intel that is missing Xorg.0.log or output of `lspci -vvnn` will get this status). I'll set change the status again once the information I requested is in place. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: needs-lspci-vvnn needs-xorglog xorg ** Tags removed: 8.10 945 graphics -- 1680x1050 Stopped working. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/321230 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
