+ [i915] Jaunty update breaks xorg on eee pc 900

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

  xserver-xorg-video-intel:
    Installed: 2:2.6.1-1ubuntu4
    Candidate: 2:2.6.1-1ubuntu4
    Version table:
   *** 2:2.6.1-1ubuntu4 0
          500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

since yesterday's update, xorg isn't starting correctly, gnome desktop
does not come up completely. I get a mostly blank desktop, with only the
icon for my removable media (sdhc in this case).

xorg log (and the gdm log) both reveal

[ 15.538927] (EE) intel(0): Mode 1280x1024 does not fit virtual size
  1024x1024 - internal error

I notice that this error shows up in several bug reports in Intrepid.
Seems to have been introduced in this case as of a bunch of updates that
  took place yesterday.

  I've also sent a ubuntu-bug -p xserver-xorg-video-intel, however since I
can't get a xterm on the affected machine I couldn't associate it with
  my LP ID.
