Had the same problem in one install and no problem in another install,
dont know why yet, maybe i didn't had some package installed before
maybe build-essential.

Fix:
Inside of qtcreator
Open your project
go to "Projects" (fourth tab on the left)
click on "Run Settings"

In my case the problem was that the config was empty for executable and
Working directory, to get the values

click on the plus sign
choose the name of your project
delete the empty config

this should add the path to your executable and now it should run
normally
