AFAIK Mandriva has the MCC whilst Fedora has yum, so they both should take care of package installation/dependencies etc. I don't know whether FC4 has KDE, but on the Mandriva box I'm now getting used to it, and I must admit I'm kinda liking it!

Perl was definately installed in one of the installations because I entered a command and it came back with the currently installed version, which was 5.8.x. I can't understand why it wasn't installed this time around. All I need to know now is what I need to do to carry on. Do I go right back to the beginning of this thread, and do the 'cd /','mkdir setup' etc, or wait until someone else tries an install? -- CavesOfTQLT _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
