Thanks snarlydwarf I found the limits.conf file where you suggested. With the exception of the commented syntax notes there are no setting set. The memory related options I see are rss, memlock, stack and possibly as. I'm leaning twards rss but just a guess. Could you or someone suggest which item or items I should modify and what a resonably safe setting would be for my SS w/ 60,000 tracks, mysql and 512megs of mem.
