Complete newbie to Linux here so be gentle :-)
Have installed Ubuntu, and then Slimserver via Synaptic package manager
- Slimserver is running fine, but when I do a scan nothing happens. I
have mounted my Music folder as /mnt/Music, and can do an ls on it
fine.
If I go into server settings in Slimserver, and go to Debugging and
view the log, I see this message -

connect('mysql_socket=/var/cache/slimserver/slimserver-mysql.sock','',...)
failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
