I also have the srvpowerctrl plugin working on my Ubuntu server. I also had to make a squeezecenter group, and the install script did not work, so I installed it manually. Now both hibernate, shutdown etc. works nicely.
Be aware ! the plugin does NOT work on SC 7.3, I have tried this, but had to revert to 7.2 to get this working again.
