Whoosh!! You are my new hero. I copied my original softsqueeze.jnlp back
to the /softsqueeze folder, then looked for the "preferences" tab you
mentioned the next time I started SoftSqueeze, and changed the setting
for the SqueezeCenter to the computer name as it appears on my network
and voile, all of a suddent I have SoftSqueeze working.

The computer/software changed the setting from the desktop user name to
the IP address of that box (192.168.0.106) but that's cool. I guess it
was messing around with the .jnlp file that screwed things up.

I play to install the mp3 plugin for Java after I've listened to my
music for awhile . . .
