So to be one the safe side of understanding this:

If I buy wrt54gl and change the firmware I can:

1. connect it to another router to make it feed internet to any PC
connected to it?
2. Plug my server and transporter into it and have it feeding both
internet from the router downstairs and SC-services from the server to
the transporte at the same time?
