You can probably modify the WaveInput plugin. Currenbtly it is setup to use ALSA but in the plugin thread there is a discussion on how to modify to use OSS. You could follow same ideas and modify to use PulseAudio probably having to use parec (or similar as I am not sure if it can use stdin/stdout) instead of arecord.
Some users have used PulseAudio with the ALSA emulation.
