answering my own question on separate output on HDMI and on analogue with different zones on the rpi... after much research it appears that rpi and rpi2 can not play different sound to both HDMI and to the analogue 3.5" jack at the same time, therefor it's not possible to achieve a 2 zone rpi player (one zone for HDMI, other on 3.5") without an additional DAC or sound device. The rpi can only switch a single output from either the HDMI or 3.5" jack and direct the audio stream there. The issue is apparently a hardware limitation on the rpi.

Does anyone know of a cheap 8 channel DAC that I could split into 4 stereo pairs and drive 4 zones off a single rpi2? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ashleyw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58923 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97046 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
