I gave this a try and got through an entire DTS9624 album without a
single issue.  I've had so much trouble with Pi + Onkyo that I'm scared
to declare victory just yet, but this seems very promising.  Thank you
so much!

Now if I could just figure out how to apply something similar to Kodi...
