Depends on how pcp is configured. Running only squeezelite, then the lirc_client linked to squeezelite is used to read IR events from lircd. Install jivelite and lircd is reconfigured to inject the IR events through uinput to emulate a keyboard and the IR option is removed from squeezelite so that both are not trying to read IR events. pcp has different lircd.conf files for each mode.
