Somehow Michael is right. I took one of the two Raspi away with me for the weekend, installed a fresh Raspbian Lite on another SD.
I did not enter ANY command, just booted the OS, run raspi-config to setup wifi country, and checked what was the output of ifconfig: the MAC address of wlan0 was different. When I rebooted with piCore, I checked the MAC, and it was the same, so it looks like permanently changed. I do not have an explanation for this behavior, but the information may be useful for someone else.
